Christmas is here at Edmonton Green Library!

The holiday season is in full swing at Edmonton Green Library, Fore Street Library, and Ponders End Library. In honour of the festive period, the library has a whole slate of holiday-themed books and events at the libraries.

We have decorations that are holiday themed all around our main and community libraries. Be sure to come see them when you check out books or use the computers!

In addition to our colourful decorations, our libraries have a number of books available for you to read that are Christmas and holiday themed for all ages. Here are a selection of just a few of the titles you or your child can enjoy.

This charming book is a page turner for young children! Is this fairy suitable for Christmas or not? Read and find out!

This book aimed at toddlers tells the story of what Santa does on Christmas Eve.

Santa Claus is tired of his job and ready to retire somewhere warm! But can he capture the true meaning of Christmas and find happiness without his usual job?

Celebrity chef Nadiya offers recipes and stories suitable for children of all ages to make during the festive period.

We also have holiday themed DVDs are the library! In this delightful film, Santa’s sleigh has been stolen! Can five elves band together to save Christmas?

Another wonderful story about elves, this one is a chapter book for older children. This book features a family of elves who manager the Reindeer Poo Disposal and must go on a great adventure when they’re accidentally exiled from the North Pole!

This Christmas and winter-themed children’s novel involves a girl named Sara going on an enchanted journey. Can she get home in time for Christmas?

This novel, written for teenagers, is about a young woman named Molly who loathes Christmas. Can connecting with a cute guy change her perspective?

19 December, 2-4pm: Write a letter to Santa, and your child will get a reply later in the week! (Children 4-8 years old)
21 December, 10am-12pm & 2-4pm: A Christmas craft and storytime session for children under 6.
22 December, 2-4pm: Build Christmas-themed LEGOs, featuring a contest. Perfect for children 4-8!
24 December 11am-12pm: 3-7 year old children can make Christmas themed colouring.

Our community libraries at Fore Street And Ponders End will also be having Take & Make boxes for families. These boxes are oriented at children 4-8 and include Christmas-themed activities of all kinds. These will be available on a first come, first serve basis!
